Word of the Day: Neoteny

Neoteny:
noun
the state resulting when juvenile characteristics are retained by the adults of a species

Definition courtesy of Dictionary.com.

Ha, funny story.  The example picture in Wikipedia is a Pomeranian that looks a lot like Lilly.  Therefore, Lilly, with her juvenile features such as large round eyes, is a perfect example of neoteny in animals.  End of story.
